A metropolis of natural resources, Brazil has expanded its industry to become one of the most diverse and prolific producers of energy in the world. Much of this success can be attributed to Brazil’s abundant renewable sources of energy, such as its hydropower and sugarcane biofuel. In the coming years, Brazil will attempt to lower its reliance on petroleum and other fossil fuels and focus more on a greener, healthier, and more effective use of renewable energy.
